While it is often blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet France, Petit Verdot and Malbec to create the famous wines of Bordeaux, one of the most famous wines is the world is comprised of only Merlot: Chateau Petrus (Pomerol). Merlot has also found a great home in the soils of America, principally in California.
